Patna Police's Major Action, Seizes Drugs Worth 7.5 Crores
Police in Patna seized a significant quantity of drugs worth approximately 7.5 crores and arrested a trafficker during a raid based on a tip-off.
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Patna police successfully seized a large quantity of illegal substances during a raid in the Naichak Mustafapur village in the Khagaul police station area. Acting on a tip-off, authorities arrested the suspected drug dealer, Kallu Paswan, and confiscated a total of 4.846 kilograms of narcotics, which included 2.028 kilograms of heroin and 2.82 kilograms of brown sugar. The drugs were found stored in a black plastic bag, highlighting the ongoing issues surrounding drug abuse and trafficking in the region.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kartikeya K. Sharma reported that this operation was part of a special initiative against narcotic threats, indicating a proactive approach by law enforcement to combat the growing drug menace. The raid was conducted on March 14, and during the operation, police also recovered a digital weighing scale, 2400 rupees in cash, and a mobile phone from the suspect's possession. The swift action taken reflects the commitment of local authorities to address drug-related crimes and enforce the law in their jurisdiction.
The estimated international market value of the seized heroin and brown sugar is around 7.5 crores, shedding light on the substantial financial implications of drug trafficking in India. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter, including a probe into the suspect’s assets and bank accounts to uncover larger trafficking networks, indicating that this case is part of a broader effort to dismantle organized crime related to narcotics in the region.
