The Anti-Narcotics Task Force arrested a drug trafficker in Lucknow with 5.549 kg of heroin valued at approximately 12 crores.
In a significant operation against drug trafficking in Uttar Pradesh, the Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) successfully arrested a young man from Barabanki with a substantial amount of heroin. The arrest was made during a raid in Lucknow, where officers discovered 5.549 kilograms of heroin, which is estimated to have an international market value of around 12 crores INR. The accused, identified as Mohammad Imran, was allegedly engaged in the drug trade while residing in LUCKNOW but hails from the village of Tikra Murtaza in Barabanki district.
According to the ANTF, Mohammed Imran was actively selling the heroin in small packets to various customers in and around Lucknow. Law enforcement became aware of his suspicious activities and kept him under surveillance until they executed the raid which led to his arrest. The considerable quantity of heroin highlights not only the scale of his operations but also the rampant drug trafficking issue facing the region.
This incident draws attention to the ongoing challenges law enforcement agencies face in tackling drug-related crime in India. The arrest of Imran is a part of broader efforts by the ANTF to curb narcotics trafficking, which has seen an alarming rise in various parts of the country. The operation also sheds light on the public health and safety threats posed by drug abuse and the necessity for continued vigilance in monitoring illicit activities.
