Narcotics Syndicate Dismantled in Bengaluru, Drugs Worth 1.1 Billion Seized, 15 Smugglers Arrested

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking in Bengaluru, police arrested 15 individuals, including three foreign nationals, and seized a substantial haul of illegal drugs valued at 1.1 billion rupees.

In a major operation against drug trafficking, Bengaluru police have successfully dismantled a narcotics syndicate, resulting in the arrest of 15 perpetrators, including three foreigners. This operation was the result of specific intelligence gathered beforehand. Police conducted raids in various neighborhoods, including Amritahalli, Hebbagodi, JB Nagar, Sheshadripuram, Mahalakshmi Layout, and Govindapura, where illegal substances are believed to have been distributed without restraint.

The joint efforts of the Narcotics Control Wing and local police uncovered a wide range of banned narcotics during their raids, which included hydroponic cannabis, MDMA, cocaine, LSD pills, LSD strips, hashish oil, and large quantities of marijuana. Investigations under the NDPS Act revealed that these drugs were being sold openly, particularly targeting the youth, including college students and employees in the IT/BT sectors.

During police interrogations, the arrested individuals confessed to their involvement in drug trafficking motivated by the desire for quick financial gains. They admitted to purchasing narcotics from both domestic and international suppliers to cater to a growing client base, further raising concerns about the escalating drug trade in the region. This operation highlights the persistent challenges law enforcement faces in combating drug-related crime and the need for continued vigilance and enforcement efforts.
