Sahmyook University Appoints 25 'Career-Specialized Professors' to Support Career Development and Entrepreneurship
Sahmyook University has appointed 25 career-specialized professors to enhance students' career and entrepreneurship capabilities as part of a new initiative.
Sahmyook University, led by President Je Hae-Jong, has appointed 25 career-specialized professors to strengthen the career and entrepreneurship capabilities of its students. The inauguration ceremony took place on the 11th in the Grand Hall of the Centennial Memorial Building on campus. Each of these professors was selected based on recommendations from various departments, and they will work closely with the university's Job Development Center to handle crucial aspects of career support, including career counseling, guidance for internships, and connections to quality employment opportunities.
The new system aims not only to assist current students but also to manage the employment needs of graduates more effectively through a tailored approach in each department. This initiative is a response to the rapidly changing job market, influenced by demographic shifts and reductions in corporate hiring practices, which have rendered the role of university career support more important than ever. The university plans to create a robust support system that integrates professional guidance based on students' majors and their specific career paths.
From this month through December, the Job Development Center will hold monthly workshops. These workshops are set to include customized career consulting for each department, sharing of global employment trends, and information on summer and winter programs such as SU internships. The university is keen on discussing various employment support measures during these sessions. Vice President Seo Kyung-Hyun remarked on the importance of the professors' dedication to student employment and pledged the university's support for their career guidance activities.
