Five professors from Sahmyook University retire, recognized for their contributions to academia and the community.

On February 28, five professors from Sahmyook University in South Korea are set to retire, marking a significant transition for the institution. Professor Kim Yong-seon from the Art and Design Department, who served for 37 years, has been honored with the Order of Educational Merit for his substantial impact on developing an educational environment focused on students. He initiated numerous projects that fostered a spirit of challenge and practical experiences among students, and his artistic contributions have made a lasting impression on the university community, evident by the 70 banners he created displayed throughout the campus.

Professor Song Chang-ho from the Theology Department, retiring after 29 years, has played a pivotal role in leading innovations in education, research, and administration that have significantly advanced the university's profile. His strategic efforts during his tenure, particularly in the planning office, helped the institution effectively navigate government-led enrollment reductions, enhancing the university's administrative reliability. Additionally, he was instrumental in initiating the Asia-Africa Journal of Mission & Ministry, fostering international academic engagement.

The others retiring include professors Kim Nak-cheol and Ryu Byeong-yeol from the Chinese Language and Environmental Design Horticulture Departments, who are also recognized for their contributions to the university and the broader community. Their retirements signify not only the closing of an important chapter for Sahmyook University but also highlight the ongoing commitment of its faculty to nurturing students and advancing their respective fields.
