Sahmyook University Signs MOU with Namyangju City for 'AI Talent Development'

Sahmyook University has signed a memorandum of understanding with Namyangju City to enhance AI talent development and create a high-tech industrial ecosystem.

Sahmyook University, led by President Je Hae-jong, has formalized a partnership with Namyangju City through a memorandum of understanding aimed at developing talent in artificial intelligence (AI) and establishing a high-tech industry ecosystem. The signing ceremony occurred on the 11th at the Namyangju City Hall. This collaboration seeks to align Sahmyook University's educational and research capabilities in AI with regional development strategies to foster a sustainable innovation ecosystem.

The agreement focuses particularly on integrating the training of future professionals with the urban high-tech industry project known as Wangseok. Both parties aim to create a virtuous cycle of talent development, corporate attraction, research and development, and job creation. The MOU outlines a series of initiatives, including promoting the construction of high-tech industrial complexes, nurturing future professionals in AI and innovative industries, enhancing technological competitiveness through research collaborations, and establishing a local employment network tailored to the community's needs.

In line with the recent AI-centered university initiative announced by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Sahmyook University plans to bolster its existing AI and software education framework to develop practical AI talent that meets industrial demands. President Je expressed commitment to enhancing local talent development rooted in their educational and research strengths, thereby contributing to the region's industrial competitiveness and supporting the employment and entrepreneurship of young professionals in Namyangju.
