Estonian snowboarder Laura Anga finished seventh in the women's Big Air event at the junior World Championships in Calgary.
Laura Anga, a young Estonian snowboarder, achieved notable success at the junior World Championships held in Calgary, where she secured seventh place in the women's Big Air event. Her performance included scores of 56.50 on her first jump and 74.00 on her second, leading to a combined total of 130.50 points from her two best jumps. This result showcases her skill and determination in a competitive field, although she did not improve her score on her third jump.
The championship highlighted Anga's talent, given her earlier fifth-place finish in the slopestyle event a week prior. As a 16-year-old athlete, her entry into the finals of the Big Air competition was marked by her strong qualification result, where she ranked fourth overall. The junior championship witnessed standout performances, particularly from Belgiumโs Sky Remans, who won the title with a score of 164.50 points, followed closely by competitors from Japan and the USA.
Looking ahead, Anga will next compete in the rail event, deepening her engagement in the championships where fellow Estonian competitor Triinu Marta Oiderma will also participate. In contrast, Estonian male snowboarders faced tougher challenges, with Uko Hommik, Robin-Christopher Raimo, and Gregor Parts unable to progress past the qualification rounds in the men's Big Air event, finishing in the lower ranks.
