Two Estonian snowboarders reached the finals of the junior world championships

Two Estonian snowboarders qualified for the finals of the junior world championships held in Calgary, Canada.

Two Estonian snowboarders, Laura Anga and Gregor Parts, have successfully progressed to the finals of the junior freestyle skiing and snowboarding world championships taking place in Calgary, Canada. Laura Anga secured her spot in the women’s junior category by scoring 72.00 points in her second run of the qualification round. Gregor Parts also made it to the final in the men's junior category with a score of 66.00 points in his second attempt.

Unfortunately, both athletes faced challenges during the final runs as Anga finished at the bottom of the 12 competitors with the lowest score of 18.75 points, while Parts managed to place 16th out of 20 with a score of 37.25 points. Other competitors from Estonia, such as Uko Hommik, Robin-Christopher Raimo, and Triinu Marta Oiderma, did not qualify for the finals either, although they achieved respectable scores. The 17-year-old freestyle skier Grete-Mia Meentalo, who recently made her Olympic debut, did not participate in the park event.

The junior world championships will continue until March 6, featuring various events such as slopestyle, Big Air, and rail events, showcasing the talent of young athletes in these winter sports disciplines. The participation of Estonian athletes marks a significant achievement for the country as they strive for recognition on the international stage in freestyle skiing and snowboarding.
