Drugs worth 10 crore seized in Bengaluru, Kerala smugglers arrested

The Central Crime Branch of Karnataka has busted an international drug syndicate in Bengaluru, seizing a massive amount of drugs including LSD, hydro ganja, and charas valued at around 10 crore rupees.

In a significant operation, the Central Crime Branch (CCB) of Karnataka's narcotics wing has dismantled an international drug syndicate operating from a luxury apartment in Bengaluru. During a raid at an apartment in Prestige Finsbury Park, located in Balagere, police confiscated a large cache of drugs that included LSD, hydro ganja, and charas. This operation resulted in the largest recovery of LSD strips ever recorded in Karnataka's history, amounting to 8,335 strips, each valued at 6,000 rupees in the market, indicating a total worth of nearly 10 crore rupees. Additionally, police recovered 5 kg of hydro ganja and 534 grams of charas.

The investigation revealed a concerning tactic employed by the smugglers to evade law enforcement. To disguise the LSD strips and avoid suspicion, the accused had cleverly designed them to resemble images of Hindu deities and intricate artistic designs. This camouflage allowed the drugs to be marketed as conventional items, thereby misleading the public as well as security agencies. Such efforts highlight the innovative strategies used by drug traffickers to circumvent legal scrutiny.

Two individuals from Kerala, identified as Ashwin (27) and Mobina (25), have been arrested in connection with the drug trade. The police have indicated that these smugglers were operating under a network led by a person named Vincent. This case represents not only a major victory for Karnataka's law enforcement in the ongoing battle against drug trafficking but also raises awareness about the sophisticated methods used by traffickers to distribute illicit substances in urban areas.
