Sale of LSD under the guise of pictures of God, drugs worth ₹10 crores seized
Police in Bengaluru, India, have seized LSD worth ₹10 crores from a luxury apartment, marking the largest such operation in Karnataka.
In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking in Bengaluru, Karnataka, the Central Crime Branch's narcotics wing seized a staggering amount of drugs valued at approximately ₹10 crores. This operation, which took place in the upscale residential area of Balagere, shocked the local community. Authorities indicated that this seizure is the largest recovery of LSD in Karnataka to date, highlighting the growing issue of drug trafficking in the region. Investigations into the entire network responsible for this operation are ongoing.
During the police raid at a flat in Prestige Finsbury Park, law enforcement officials discovered a total of 8,335 LSD strips, which are believed to be valued significantly in the illegal drug market, with each strip priced at around ₹6,000. This eye-opening discovery suggests not only large-scale trafficking operations but also raises concerns regarding the methods used by traffickers to distribute these substances under the guise of innocent imagery, such as pictures of deities.
The ongoing investigation has revealed that these LSD strips were being sold while disguised as artworks featuring religious figures, pointing to a clever tactic employed by traffickers to attract customers. Apart from the LSD, other illicit substances were also found during the raid, indicating the involvement of suspects in a broader array of drug trafficking activities. The authorities are committed to dismantling this network and ensuring that those involved are brought to justice, amid the rising drug-related issues in Karnataka.
