In Delhi, police arrested two drug traffickers and seized over 21 kilograms of cannabis and 46 grams of smack worth approximately 1.2 million INR during a covert operation.

In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking in the national capital, Delhi police apprehended two individuals involved in the illegal drug trade. The accused, identified as 41-year-old Firoz Khan and 36-year-old Akbar, both from Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh, were caught in the act while attempting to deliver a large quantity of narcotics. The arrest followed actionable intelligence that indicated their arrival in the region to distribute the illegal substances.

On the night of March 11 and 12, police set up a trap near the Khichripur bus stand in East Delhi. As Khan and Akbar rode their scooter towards the designated area for supply, the police quickly intervened and conducted a search. The operation resulted in the discovery of over 21 kilograms of cannabis and 46 grams of smack, which collectively have an estimated market value of 1.2 million Indian Rupees (approximately 14,400 USD).

This operation highlights the ongoing efforts by Delhi police to combat drug trafficking in the city, reflecting a broader challenge faced by authorities in managing the rising drug-related crime. The increasing incidence of such trafficking activities raises concerns about public safety and health, prompting law enforcement agencies to enhance their outreach and surveillance to deter potential offenders and protect community integrity.
