"Fegda" to renovate a road section for 4 million euros near the capital's Pilaitė district
Fegda is set to invest 4 million euros to renovate a 2.16 km road section in Vilnius County, significantly improving road safety and infrastructure for all road users.
Fegda has announced plans to invest 4 million euros to renovate a 2.16 km section of a regional road located in the Vilnius district's Zujūnai. The area where the renovation will take place overlaps with A. Mickevičiaus Street, which has recently been identified as needing substantial improvement due to a poorly maintained asphalt surface that poses discomfort for drivers and pedestrians alike. This renovation project is not only crucial for enhancing the riding quality of the road, but it will also focus on the development of pedestrian and cycling infrastructure, as well as improved lighting, ultimately aiming to create a safer and more comfortable environment for all users.
The local company, via Lietuva, has conducted thorough investigations and visual analyses to determine the necessary upgrades for this road section. Their findings highlighted the urgent need for maintenance, as the current asphalt layer is riddled with potholes and uneven conditions. The project aims to address these issues by resurfacing the road, ensuring the safety and comfort of the local community and daily transit traffic.
The project will also include the construction of two traffic lanes, replacing four existing ones that are in poor condition, enhancing not just the road infrastructure, but also ensuring reliable public transport options for the area. CEO Martynas Gedaminskas emphasized the objective of transforming this road section into a modern and safe passage for all traffic participants, meeting the needs of both the local community and transit flows.
