Sungkyunkwan University's G-LAMP project team has signed an MOU with New Uzbekistan University to enhance academic and research collaboration.

Sungkyunkwan University in South Korea has announced that its G-LAMP project team has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with New Uzbekistan University aimed at strengthening academic and research collaboration. The MOU was signed by G-LAMP project team leader Kang Wi-gyeong and Deputy Chancellor Bahodir Ahmedov from New Uzbekistan University, establishing cooperation in six areas including student exchange, joint research, seminar hosting, and academic information exchange.

The collaboration will particularly focus on joint research in key areas such as artificial intelligence, statistics, mathematics, and natural sciences. The two universities plan to develop various initiatives including graduate student exchange programs and other talent exchange opportunities to foster deeper academic ties. This partnership aims to facilitate a robust exchange of knowledge and resources between the institutions, ultimately contributing to advancements in their respective fields.

Sungkyunkwan University's G-LAMP project team is also looking to expand its academic cooperation network in the Central Asian region through this agreement. As part of the initiative, the project has been selected for a foundational research support project by the Ministry of Education and the National Research Foundation of Korea, which will provide 25 billion KRW over the next five years to conduct AI and basic science convergence research at the AI Bio-Convergence Research Institute.
