Sahmyook University and Dongyang University Sign MOU to Establish an Innovative Educational Cooperation Platform
Sahmyook University has signed an MOU with Dongyang University to create an educational cooperation platform focused on health and aviation fields.
Sahmyook University (President Je Hae-jong) is collaborating with Dongyang University to establish an innovative educational cooperation platform centered on a convergence of health and aviation sectors. This initiative is in response to the government's policy promoting inter-university cooperation and consortiums. The MOU was signed on the 25th at the Sahmyook University Centennial Memorial Hall, attended by key figures from both universities, including Presidents Je Hae-jong and Choi Jae-wook.
The agreement aims to enhance resource sharing and build a feasible cooperation framework amid the rapidly changing higher education landscape. It preemptively addresses the governmental policy trend emphasizing inter-university collaborations, such as the RISE project and Glocal University 30, and aims to strengthen the joint competitiveness of both universities. Specific areas of cooperation outlined in the MOU include joint identification and execution of industry-academia external projects, specialized collaboration in aviation and healthcare fields, comprehensive credit exchange, and collaborative educational programs.
In particular, the agreement will leverage Sahmyook University's strengths in pharmaceutical, nursing, physical therapy, and health management, and Dongyang University's infrastructure in aviation operations and maintenance to collaboratively develop integrated educational courses. The plan includes utilizing each other's practical training facilities to enhance students' practical competencies. Furthermore, the universities will seek to implement cross-disciplinary course enrollment and credit recognition, establish a joint certification program in the health-aviation convergence field, and respond jointly to governmental and municipal funding projects to strengthen industry-academia collaboration.
