Smuggler Caught with Heroin Worth 12 Crores in Lucknow
A smuggler was arrested in Lucknow with heroin worth approximately 12 crores as part of an anti-narcotics operation.
In a significant anti-narcotics operation in Lucknow, the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) apprehended a smuggler with heroin valued at about 12 crores. The arrest took place near the Imamwada area in the Chowk police station jurisdiction. Authorities retrieved not only the heroin but also a mobile phone, Aadhaar card, PAN card, and cash from the suspect's possession.
According to police officials, intelligence was received indicating that a smuggler was en route to deliver a substantial quantity of narcotics in the Chowk area. Acting on this tip-off, the ANTF heightened surveillance in the region and monitored suspicious activities closely. On Saturday, the team successfully intercepted a suspicious car near Imamwada, leading to the discovery of a significant stash of heroin during a search of the vehicle.
The arrested individual has been identified as Imran. This operation highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement in Uttar Pradesh to combat drug trafficking and curb the distribution of illegal substances in the region, reflecting a larger national concern regarding the drug trade and its implications on public safety and health.
