Hotels in the Baixada Santista region are expecting an occupancy rate of 88.64% during Carnival, with over half of reservations already made ahead of the event.
A recent survey by the Syndicate of Hotels, Restaurants, Bars, and Similar of Baixada Santista and Vale do Ribeira (SINHORES) indicates that hotels in the region are anticipating an impressive occupancy rate of 88.64% during the Carnival period, scheduled from February 14 to 18. This figure reflects a strong demand as over 56% of hotel capacity has already been booked more than a week in advance, highlighting the area's popularity among tourists during this festive season.
The cities of Santos, Praia Grande, São Vicente, Guarujá, and Bertioga are included in this survey, showcasing a positive trend compared to previous years. In 2025, the forecasted occupancy was 82.25%, which was surpassed by the final results that showed 88.22% of hotel rooms occupied. The increase to 88.64% for 2026 indicates a growing desire for leisure travel in the region, positioning Carnival as a crucial holiday for local hospitality establishments.
The SINHORES reports that Carnival is among the peak periods for the hotel sector in Baixada Santista, prompting hotels to prepare special structures and services to attract tourists. This surge in occupancy not only boosts the local economy but also highlights the region's appeal as a Carnival destination, encouraging further investments in tourism infrastructure for future events.
