Piauí announces the result of Sietur with 102 projects and investment of R$ 10 million
Piauí's government announced the approval of 102 tourism projects requiring an investment of R$ 10.17 million to enhance various tourist sectors in the state.
On Monday, the Governor of Piauí, Rafael Fonteles, announced the results of the State Incentive System for Tourism (Sietur), revealing the approval of 102 projects that will receive a total investment of R$ 10.17 million. These projects span several areas of tourism, including event tourism, sports, historical-culture, religious, ecological, and gastronomy, aimed at boosting the state's tourist attractions across seven regions: Costa do Delta, Teresina, Aventura e Mistério, Histórico-Cultural, das Águas, das Nascentes, and das Origens.
A total of 477 projects were submitted for consideration in this edition, with 307 deemed eligible. The approved initiatives will directly benefit 58 municipalities within the specified tourist poles, a significant increase in the encouragement of tourism routes, and the qualification of local trade. Governor Fonteles highlighted that the number of eligible projects has grown over 100% between 2024 and 2026, indicating a strong commitment to enhancing the state's tourism sector.
The funding for these projects is secured through annual bids mandated by law, facilitated by tax incentives provided by the state. This strategic governmental support not only promotes Piauí as a tourism destination but also aims to uplift local economies by creating jobs and improving infrastructure in rural and urban areas.
