Sogang University Media & Entertainment Department's Han Ju-seong and Yoo Min-woo Win Grand Prize at the First Lotte Foundation Social Contribution Video Contest
Students from Sogang University's Media & Entertainment Department won the grand prize at a video contest organized by the Lotte Foundation for their insightful portrayal of supporting visually impaired individuals.
Students Han Ju-seong and Yoo Min-woo, members of the 'Albatross' team from Sogang University's Media & Entertainment Department, were awarded the grand prize at the Lotte Foundation's first Social Contribution Video Contest held on March 10. The contest aimed to reveal warm changes and the value of sharing in everyday life through the innovative perspectives of citizens, attracting significant attention with a high competition rate of 198 teams participating.
The winning video, titled 'Campus Reading Together, the Value of Togetherness', creatively depicted the team's initiative to assist visually impaired students by placing braille stickers around the campus to improve accessibility. Their project authentically illustrated how simple acts of kindness can lead to positive changes, garnering high praise from the judges for its sincerity and impactful storytelling within a compact 60-second format.
In their reflections on the project, both Han and Yoo expressed gratitude for the opportunity to raise awareness about the challenges faced by visually impaired students. They articulated their hope that this small act of consideration could inspire broader positive changes across the campus community, showcasing the potential for collective action rooted in empathy and social responsibility.
