Seoul City University Concludes the 2025 UOS Star Lecture Award Ceremony

Seoul City University held the second annual UOS Star Lecture Award Ceremony, honoring outstanding educators for their commitment to teaching excellence.

Seoul City University has successfully held the second annual UOS Star Lecture Award Ceremony on February 23, 2025, at the president's office within the university. The UOS Star Lecture Award, established last year, aims to enhance educational quality and boost faculty pride, marking a significant initiative that acknowledges the invaluable teaching capabilities as core assets of the university. This award not only recognizes excellence but also fosters a culture that respects dedicated long-term educational innovation among faculty members.

This year, six professors were honored for their consistent teaching excellence over five consecutive years, based on yearly teaching evaluation results. The awardees include Jeong Hye-sook from the Department of Social Welfare, Park Gi-young from the Department of Korean Language and Literature, Park Ui-yong from the Department of Mathematics, Song Young-hyun from the Department of Urban Administration, Kang Dong-hwa from the Department of Architectural Engineering, and Kim Ah-yeon from the Department of Landscape Architecture. The university emphasizes that this recognition is crucial as it acknowledges the sustained efforts of professors in innovating educational practices over a long period rather than recognizing one-time achievements.

At the ceremony, President Won Yong-gyeol expressed sincere gratitude to all faculty members for their unwavering dedication to education. He particularly praised the award recipients for their long-lasting passion and commitment to guiding students over five years, noting that such dedication is the foundation of the university's competitive edge and pride. He also emphasized the institution's ongoing commitment to continuous improvement in educational excellence and the establishment of systematic support systems to ensure that outstanding teaching and educational innovation are adequately recognized and rewarded in the future.
