Won Jong-hyun of Sungkyunkwan University won KBS's debate competition 'The Logic' and received the award from the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.
Won Jong-hyun, a member of the debate club 'Unanimous' at Sungkyunkwan University, achieved victory in KBS’s policy debate survival program 'The Logic,' securing the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism award and a gold medal. 'The Logic' is jointly organized by KBS and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and involves various participants debating national policies to showcase their logical reasoning capabilities.
In the final round, the teams debated the necessity for aggressive recruitment of immigrants to address population decline, with Won Jong-hyun's opposition team emerging victorious in the 5-on-5 debate format. Alongside the championship title, Won also earned the title of 'Logic Master,' highlighting his outstanding performance in the competition.
In his remarks following the victory, Won expressed gratitude for the support he received, emphasizing the significance of the experience gained during his time in the university's debate club, which he considers integral to his college life. A senior in the Department of Political Science and Diplomacy, he has previously achieved notable results in various national debate competitions, further establishing his credentials as a skilled debater.
