The local police have apprehended three suspects, including a woman, and recovered ₹1.63 lakh, a Scorpio vehicle believed to be used in the crime, and four mobile phones. Authorities have indicated that this case sheds light on the often overlooked issue of digital coercion and extortion in society.

The incident began when the victim, employed at a laboratory, was approached by a woman named Jyoti while taking a blood sample on February 25. After the interaction, she acquired his phone number under the guise of the blood report and initiated a conversation that ultimately led to a planned meeting. During this interaction, the woman set up a trap for the victim, leading to further escalation. The police spokesperson, Sandeep Kumar, mentioned that the victim lodged a complaint at the Sector 37 police station after realizing he had been blackmailed.
