The Blackmailer Arrived Without Clothes: The Story of a Retired Teacher Caught in a Honey Trap

A retired teacher in Rajkot fell prey to a honey trap scheme that led to blackmailing and the demand for 40 lakh rupees.

In Rajkot, a retired school teacher was ensnared in a honey trap scheme where he was lured under the pretext of purchasing land. After being called to Rajkot and taken to a hotel, he was coerced into intimate relations, during which compromising images and videos were captured. The accused then began blackmailing the teacher, demanding an exorbitant sum of 40 lakh rupees, of which the victim managed to transfer 12 lakh rupees through RTGS after negotiations.

The 59-year-old victim, who recently retired in October 2025, intended to invest his life's savings and retirement benefits into purchasing land. His initial meeting with one of the accused, Paayal Patel, took place a year ago at a school event in Botad. However, what began as a potential land investment led to a criminal exploitation of the victim, revealing the vulnerabilities that can often be exploited through deceitful schemes.

Once the victim recognized the fraudulent nature of the situation and the continuous demands for money that followed the initial payment, he reported the crime to the police. The Crime Branch swiftly acted on the information, arresting three individuals, including two women, within hours of the report. The names of the arrested are Nilesh Jhunjha, Paayal Patel, and Tejal Tindani, highlighting the involvement of multiple perpetrators in this case of extortion and deception.
