Maxima announces its holiday hours for Easter

Maxima, a major retail chain in Lithuania, has announced its operational hours for Easter, emphasizing high customer activity during Holy Friday and Saturday, and a day off for employees on Sunday.

Maxima, one of the leading supermarket chains in Lithuania, has shared its operational plans for the upcoming Easter holiday. According to the company, the peak shopping days for customers are expected to be Holy Friday and Holy Saturday, when stores will operate at full capacity to accommodate the increased demand. This marks the sixth consecutive year that employees will have a day off on Easter Sunday to spend time with their families.

The preparation for Easter begins several weeks in advance, with notable increases in the sales of eggs, mayonnaise, and horseradish. Shoppers also buy ingredients for festive baking, chocolate treats for children, and home decorations, including Easter-themed tableware. In the last days leading up to the holiday, customer preferences shift towards purchasing fresh meat and fish products as well as ready-to-eat meals, reflecting the urgency of last-minute shopping for the celebration.

Titas Atraškevičius, a representative from Maxima, suggests that the highest shopping activity typically starts around noon on Holy Friday. He advises customers looking for a more peaceful shopping experience to consider morning hours before 10 a.m. or to visit the stores in the evening after 7 p.m., which could alleviate some of the influx related to the holiday preparations.
