On Wednesday, Latvia witnessed a total of 146 traffic accidents, resulting in injuries to two individuals, as reported by the State Police. The majority of these incidents, 100 in total, were concentrated in the Riga region, highlighting the area's significance in traffic-related issues. Among these incidents, one occurred in which a person was injured.

One of the notable accidents involved a collision between a truck and a minibus in the Inčukalns parish of Sigulda. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene, where they utilized hydraulic tools to extricate an individual trapped in the minibus before transferring them to emergency medical services. This incident underscores the importance of prompt emergency response in mitigating injuries from traffic accidents.

Additionally, another pedestrian sustained injuries in a separate traffic incident in Kurzeme. Authorities also reported that on the same day, four drivers were stopped for operating their vehicles under the influence of alcohol, leading to criminal proceedings in two cases involving drivers who were either heavily intoxicated or driving without a valid license. This alarming trend raises concerns about road safety and the need for stricter enforcement of traffic laws in Latvia.
