The incidents took place in the regions of Zemgale and Riga, with one casualty reported in each area. These statistics were provided by the State Police, highlighting ongoing concerns about road safety in Latvia.

In addition to the accidents, the police apprehended six drivers for operating vehicles under the influence of alcohol. These arrests were distributed across various regions, including two in Zemgale, two in Kurzeme, and one each in Vidzeme and the Riga region. Notably, one driver was found to be under the influence of narcotic substances, and all the arrested individuals faced criminal charges resulting in the confiscation of their vehicles or the requirement to pay their vehicle's value.

The State Police also issued 409 protocols for traffic violations on the same day, with 110 of those related to speeding. The enforcement details show a discrepancy in how many careless drivers were penalized across regions, with Kurzemes and Vidzemes showing the highest number of speed-related infractions, while Riga had only a minimal count. This raises questions on regional enforcement of traffic laws and highlights the need for improved road safety measures throughout Latvia.
