The legal repercussions for these offenses have been severe, with two of the apprehended drivers facing criminal charges due to their intoxication levels, resulting in vehicle confiscation or financial restitution equivalent to the vehicle's value. In addition to these serious violations, an alarming number of traffic infractions were reported overall, as police issued a total of 530 citations for various traffic law violations, indicative of ongoing road safety challenges in the region.
Moreover, the police reported specific data on speeding violations, with 216 tickets issued across different regions: 22 in RÄ«ga, 63 in Latgale, 47 in Vidzeme, 45 in Kurzem, and 39 in Zemgale.
