The majority of incidents were concentrated in the Riga region, where 71 accidents occurred, resulting in injuries to eight individuals, including four pedestrians.
The report indicates that the police are actively monitoring road safety, as five drivers were apprehended for driving under the influence of alcohol, leading to criminal investigations in two cases where the drivers were either severely intoxicated or lacked a valid driver's license. These incidents add to the alarming trend of road traffic violations, with a total of 541 administrative offenses documented within a 24-hour period, indicating a pressing need for increased enforcement and public awareness about traffic laws.
