A tragic incident occurred in the Ogre district of Latvia last night when a fire led to the deaths of both a man and a dog. The State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) reported that they received an emergency call shortly after midnight, which alerted them to a fire in a two-story residential building. The blaze affected the kitchen and corridor on the first floor, a bedroom on the second floor, and the building's facade, covering a total area of 70 square meters.

In response to the emergency call, fire services quickly mobilized to contain the fire. Despite their efforts, the fire resulted in the loss of life. Over the past day, VUGD reported a total of 45 emergency calls, including nine related to fire extinguishing efforts and 29 for rescue operations.
