Two people have died in fires
In the last 24 hours, two individuals were reported dead in fires across Latvia according to the National Fire and Rescue Service.

The second incident was reported later in Alūksnes, where a fire erupted in a second-floor apartment of a two-story apartment building. Firefighters discovered a deceased individual in the burning accommodation, who was subsequently confirmed dead by medical personnel. During the response, two others were saved and handed over to healthcare providers, further underscoring the dangers posed by domestic fires. This fire was extinguished by around 22:26.
