A small fire broke out at the „Tulpė“ sanatorium in Birštonas
A small fire was reported at the Tulpė sanatorium in Birštonas, Lithuania, involving a burning fan in a second-floor restroom.
At approximately 0:20 AM, employees of the Tulpė sanatorium in Birštonas reported a fire in a restroom on the second floor, causing smoke in the corridor. In the restroom, it was discovered that a fan in the wall had caught fire. Fortunately, the fire was extinguished on its own, and the situation did not escalate beyond the immediate area where the fire occurred.
According to the Kaunas Fire and Rescue Department, the room was ventilated using a positive pressure fan to clear the smoke. One individual was assisted by the sanatorium staff and led to safety in the corridor before fire crews arrived. Upon their arrival, firefighters instructed that person and two staff members to relocate to safer areas away from the immediate threat.
The building, a four-story structure housing around 70 individuals at the time, did not require evacuation of people from other floors, as there was no smoke or danger present in those areas. Fire rescuers conducted thorough checks across all four floors and confirmed that the situation was under control, and no further hazards were detected within the premises.
