Three fires recorded in Lithuania in one day, with people suffering from smoke poisoning
In Lithuania, three separate incidents of fire resulted in individuals being treated for smoke inhalation.
On a particular day in Lithuania, emergency services responded to three separate fires that resulted in smoke poisoning among residents. In Vilkaviškis, firefighters received a call around 5 PM reporting smoke within a private home. Upon arrival, they found a smoky room where furniture was burning, leading to the rescue of a man who was suffering from smoke inhalation; he was transported to a hospital. Another man exited the premises himself but also required medical assistance due to smoke poisoning.
Later that same day, around 6:30 PM, a report came in from the village of Plikiškiai in the Joniškis district about a heavily smoke-filled living space. Emergency medical services removed a man from inside the building, who also showed signs of smoke poisoning after a fire broke out due to a bed igniting next to a stove, resulting in burnt flooring.
Additionally, on February 10, emergency responders were called to an apartment on Savanorių Prospektas in Vilnius, where food that had been left cooking had ignited. They assisted a woman who was potentially suffering from smoke inhalation and transported her to a hospital for treatment. These incidents highlight the ongoing risks associated with residential fires and the necessity for prompt emergency response in ensuring public safety.
