In response to severe rains and landslides that have assailed the municipalities of Juiz de Fora and Ubá in Minas Gerais, the people of Rio Grande do Sul are rallying to provide support. This humanitarian effort follows the devastation caused by heavy floods in 2024, prompting both the local government of Rio Grande do Sul and the Porto Alegre municipality to take action alongside private sector campaigns. The Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Fiergs) organized a significant shipment of essential supplies, which included mattresses, bed linens, clothing, and food items.

The initiative, which gathered momentum following a call from the Porto Alegre city government for cooperative support, resulted in a convoy delivering sizable quantities of 11,000 clothing items, 5 tons of food, and 85,000 disposable cups destined for those in need. This response highlights the solidarity and proactive stance of the affected communities, as well as the collaborative spirit among various sectors to address the crisis. The transportation of these supplies was generously provided by the Grupo Troca, exemplifying community effort in times of disaster.
