FRSC unveils safer road-habits campaign in Anambra
The Federal Road Safety Corps launched a campaign in Anambra to promote safer road habits among motorists and pedestrians.
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) RS5.3 Anambra Sector Command has launched a new campaign aimed at educating road users in Anambra State about essential road safety practices. This initiative is part of their ongoing efforts to enhance road safety awareness and promote responsible behavior on the highways. The campaign includes engagements with communities, such as a recent church advocacy program held at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church in Igbo-Ukwu where worshippers were addressed on key safety topics.
During the advocacy program, the FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Bridget Asekauno, highlighted several critical aspects of road safety. Topics discussed included pedestrian safety, the necessity of wearing crash helmets, the hazards of overloading vehicles, proper road crossing techniques, and the consequences of dangerous driving behaviors. Asekauno emphasized that these issues are fundamental to reducing accidents and promoting a culture of safety among road users in the state.
This initiative by the FRSC is significant as it seeks not only to raise awareness but also to enforce adherence to traffic regulations. By equipping the public with vital knowledge and training, the campaign aims to foster a more responsible attitude toward road usage. The engagement of community institutions like churches demonstrates a strategic approach to reaching a broader audience and instilling safer driving and pedestrian habits throughout Anambra State.
