Bolt, FRSC tackle reckless driving

Bolt has partnered with Nigeria's Federal Road Safety Corps to launch a road safety education programme aimed at reducing reckless driving among its drivers in Abuja.

Bolt, a leading mobility platform in Nigeria, has announced a partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to address the issue of reckless driving in Abuja. This collaboration has resulted in the launch of a road safety education programme specifically designed for Bolt's driver-partners and couriers. The primary objective of this initiative is to reduce incidents of reckless driving and enhance road safety throughout the city.

During the programme, which engaged over 100 participants, practical sessions were conducted by FRSC officials who educated attendees on various aspects of responsible driving. Key topics included traffic law compliance, fatigue management, defensive driving techniques, and measures to prevent drunk driving. Participants were trained on essential traffic regulations such as speed limits, the importance of seatbelt use, and proper overtaking procedures. This comprehensive approach is intended to instil a culture of safety among drivers operating in Abuja.

Weyinmi Aghadiuno, the Head of Regulatory and Policy for Africa at Bolt, emphasized that safety is a core principle for mobility platforms, extending beyond mere technological solutions. He highlighted that this partnership with the FRSC is an opportunity to provide driver-partners with essential knowledge that enables them to navigate Nigerian roads safely, with the ultimate aim of fostering a safer driving environment for all road users in Abuja.
