Exports of wooden furniture increased by 6.7% last year
Latvia's wooden furniture exports rose by 6.7% last year, with Denmark being the top destination for these goods.
In 2025, Latvia's wooden furniture exports increased by 6.7% compared to the previous year, amounting to a total value of €202.655 million. The data compiled by the Ministry of Agriculture revealed that Denmark remained the primary market for these exports, accounting for €54.625 million, which represents 27% of the total wooden furniture export. This marks a slight increase of 6.1% from the previous year's figures, emphasizing Denmark's steady demand for Latvian wooden furniture.
Conversely, exports to Germany saw a marginal decline of 0.1% compared to the previous year, totaling €21.876 million, while exports to Sweden increased significantly by 6.8%, amounting to €17.283 million. The percentage share of exports to Germany dropped to 10.8%, and Sweden held a stable 8.5% share. These changes indicate a shifting dynamic in the export landscape, as demand patterns from different countries fluctuate, impacting Latvia's furniture industry.
Additionally, while Latvia's exports increased, the import of wooden furniture fell to €85.154 million, representing a decline of 3.8% from 2024. The Ministry of Agriculture's data suggests that Poland remains the largest source of imported wooden furniture into Latvia. This juxtaposition of increasing exports and decreasing imports could reflect a growing capacity and competitiveness within Latvia's wooden furniture manufacturing sector, aiming to expand its market presence abroad.
