The report indicated that the value of goods exported rose by 2.7%, while the value of imports increased by 0.3%. Notably, Latvia exported goods worth 1.52 billion euros and imported goods valued at 1.85 billion euros in December, marking an improvement in the trade balance with exports comprising 45% of the total foreign trade turnover compared to 44.4% the previous year.
Adjusting for seasonal and calendar factors, the actual export value in nominal prices decreased by 0.9% compared to December 2024, while import values dropped by 3.6%. However, when looking at month-over-month changes from November to December 2025, export values increased by 3.3%, indicating a stronger performance in exports. It's highlighted that data reflecting the values of external trade in goods is reported at actual prices, calculated based on the value in euros rather than the physical quantity of goods.
