Mihkels placed in the top ten at the UAE cycling tour
Madis Mihkels achieved a top ten finish in the UAE cycling tour, placing ninth in the fifth stage of the event.
In a significant achievement for Estonian cyclist Madis Mihkels, he secured a top ten position, finishing ninth during the fifth stage of the UAE cycling tour, a UCI 2.UWT event. The stage, which spanned 168 kilometers, was won by Italian rider Jonathan Milan of Lidl-Trek, who crossed the finish line in a time of three hours, 33 minutes, and 18 seconds. Notably, Milan was joined by 22 other riders who recorded the same finishing time, including Erlend Blikra from Norway and Matteo Malucelli from Italy, who finished second and third respectively. Mihkels’ performance marked his best result at this year’s UAE cycling tour, particularly after initially placing 16th in the opening stage. This consistent improvement highlights Mihkels' progression and competitiveness in the international cycling scene. As he prepares for the sixth stage, he is currently ranked 78th overall, trailing the lead rider, Antonio Tiberi of Bahrain - Victorious, by a significant margin of 15 minutes and 36 seconds.
