Estonian cyclist Madis Mihkels placed sixth in the final stage of the UAE Tour, finishing behind notable competitors.
In the final stage of the UAE Tour, cyclist Madis Mihkels from the EF Education – EasyPost team achieved a commendable sixth place during the 149-kilometer race. Although he expressed some regret over his timing in the sprint, stating that he hesitated too long before launching his final effort, he remains satisfied with the overall progress his team has made in sprint finishes throughout the tour. Mihkels had consistently placed within the top fifteen in previous stages, highlighting his growing competitiveness in the sport.
The stage was won by Italian cyclist Jonathan Milan of Lidl – Trek, who secured his third stage victory in the tour. Following him were Erlend Blikra from Norway (Uno-X Mobility) and Sam Welsford from Australia (Ineos Grenadiers). The finish line featured a slight chicane that could have been strategically advantageous for Mihkels, but ultimately, he found himself outpaced at a critical moment. His performances during the tour indicate a promising trajectory for him as he gains experience in high-stakes sprint situations.
Taking the overall victory in the UAE Tour was Mexican champion Isaac Del Toro from UAE Team Emirates – XRG, ending the event with a notable performance. Italian Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain – Victorious) came in second, trailing Del Toro by 20 seconds, while Australian Luke Plapp (Team Jayco AlUla) claimed third place.
