The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has decided to postpone its planned maintenance exercise in response to significant criticism from residents and electricity consumers across the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and adjacent communities. The maintenance work was originally planned for Saturday, which coincided with the upcoming FCT Area Council elections. Many residents voiced their concerns that the outage could severely disrupt businesses, electoral preparations, and other critical services just before the polls, leading to a public outcry against the timing of the maintenance.
