TCN announces power outage in Niger
The Transmission Company of Nigeria has announced a temporary power outage in parts of Minna, Niger State, due to maintenance work on a transformer.
The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that residents in several areas of Minna, Niger State, will experience temporary power outages while maintenance is conducted on a power transformer at the Minna Transmission Substation. This maintenance work is scheduled for February 10 and is necessary to ensure the optimal performance of the 30MVA, 132/33kV transformer.
According to a statement from TCN's General Manager for Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, the maintenance will affect bulk electricity distribution to numerous customers, including those in Tunga, Shiroro Area, Police Secondary School, Air Force Base, and several other neighborhoods. The power outage is set to begin at 9:30 am and will last until 4:00 pm, a period during which the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company will not be able to provide electricity to these areas.
This maintenance operation highlights the ongoing efforts by TCN to ensure the reliability of electricity supply in Niger State and tackle the common issues of power distribution across Nigeria. Ensuring optimal transformer performance is crucial for preventing future outages and enhancing the overall electricity infrastructure in the region, which is essential for the community's well-being and development.
