Traffic and parking restrictions in central Kaunas for six days

Traffic and parking will be restricted in central Kaunas for six days due to filming activities.

The Kaunas City Municipality has announced that traffic and parking restrictions will be in place for six days in central Kaunas to facilitate a film shoot. The designated filming area will be set up near the Kaunas 'Akropolis' shopping center, particularly affecting streets such as Karaliaus Mindaugo prospekto and nearby religious sites. Residents and special transport will be given access to certain closed-off areas during this period.

Specifically, from February 23 to 24, various parking spaces on Trakų Street and Laisvės Alley will be reserved, while filming vehicles will occupy spaces on D. Poškos, I. Kanto, and Smalininkų streets, as well as at the internal courtyard of Nemuno Street. On February 24, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., a section of Trakų Street will be fully closed to traffic, with similar restrictions on D. Poškos Street later in the day, allowing only local residents and specialized transport to pass through.

Following this, additional parking space reservations will occur at S. Daukanto Street and other local streets impacting access further. The city's decision aims to prioritize the logistical needs of film production while managing local transportation challenges, raising concerns among residents regarding traffic flow and access during the busy filming schedule.
