Survey: 72% of workers in Latvia are open to changing jobs
A recent survey revealed that 72% of workers in Latvia are open to changing jobs, with 31% actively seeking new employment and 41% regularly monitoring job offers.
A survey conducted by Alma Career Latvia has found that a significant portion of the workforce in Latvia is considering job changes. Specifically, 31% of workers are currently looking for new employment opportunities, while 41% are keeping an eye on new job offers. This totals 72% of the workforce being open to job changes, highlighting a potential trend in the Latvian labor market.
Comparatively, neighboring countries show different statistics regarding job-seeking behaviors. In Estonia, 43% of workers are actively looking for new jobs, with 46% regularly monitoring available positions, whereas in Lithuania, the figures are 24% and 47%, respectively. These statistics indicate that while Latvian workers are actively open to job changes, they are still less likely to actively seek new positions compared to their Estonian counterparts.
Despite recent salary increases for 30% of workers in Latvia, dissatisfaction persists regarding job valuation and adequate compensation. A large majority, 64%, believe their work is not valued appropriately, and many workers expect salary increases of between 20% to 30% of their current wages. With only 8% experiencing promotions and 37% taking on additional responsibilities, many employees express feelings of stagnation and frustration in their roles, suggesting a deeper issue within the labor dynamics in Latvia.
