More than 70% of workers in Latvia are open to job changes, according to a survey
A new survey indicates that 72% of workers in Latvia are open to changing jobs, highlighting a significant job-seeking trend in the country.
A recent survey conducted by Alma Career Latvia revealed that 72% of workers in Latvia are open to job changes, with 31% actively seeking new employment and 41% regularly checking new job offers. In comparison, Estonia shows 43% of workers actively looking for new jobs, while Lithuania has 24% doing the same. This reflects a regional trend where many workers are considering new opportunities in the labor market, emphasizing a dynamic job environment in the Baltic states.
Despite an increase in salaries, workers' dissatisfaction remains high, with 64% of respondents feeling that their current work is undervalued. The survey noted that while 30% of workers saw a salary increase in the previous year, many are still seeking significant raises between 20% and 30% relative to their current salaries. This highlights a potential disconnect between employer salary adjustments and employee expectations, as many workers still consider leaving their jobs for better compensation and roles.
The findings prompt considerations about the labor market health in Latvia, especially given that 55% of respondents indicated a sense of being undervalued regardless of their job roles. As employers navigate this trend, understanding and addressing the dissatisfaction among workers will be crucial for retention. The ongoing job-seeking behavior indicates that organizations may need to enhance their engagement strategies and employee satisfaction efforts to maintain a stable workforce.
