Survey: 72% of workers in Latvia are open to changing jobs
A recent survey reveals that a significant 72% of workers in Latvia are open to job changes, with 31% actively seeking new employment.
According to a survey conducted by Alma Career Latvia, a considerable portion of the workforce in Latvia is considering job changes, with 31% actively seeking new job opportunities and an additional 41% regularly exploring new offers. Collectively, this means 72% of Latvian workers are amenable to employment transitions. In contrast, a comparative analysis with Estonia and Lithuania shows that worker mobility perceptions vary, with 43% of Estonian workers and 24% of Lithuanian workers also open to changing jobs.
Despite wage increases in 2025 affecting 30% of the workforce, employee dissatisfaction appears to remain high. A staggering 64% of respondents feel their work is undervalued, contributing to their willingness to explore other employment options. The survey highlighted that workers generally deem a satisfactory salary increase to be around 20% to 30% of their current earnings, reflecting a potential gap between worker expectations and employer responses regarding compensation and recognition.
Furthermore, concerning career advancements, only 8% of respondents received promotions, and 37% took on additional responsibilities without a change in their job title. This indicates that more than half (55%) of the employees have not seen changes in their roles or duties, which could further fuel the desire for job changes among workers seeking better recognition and opportunities in their careers.
