Survey: 68% of Workers Feel Unequal Pay
In Latvia, 68% of employees have encountered unequal pay, according to a survey conducted by Alma Career Latvia.
A recent survey in Latvia, conducted by Alma Career Latvia, revealed that 68% of workers experience unequal pay, highlighting a significant issue within the nation's workforce. The survey found a stark contrast between genders, as 74% of respondents who identified as women reported facing unequal pay compared to 51% of men.
Krista RoziΕa, the marketing and communications manager at Alma Career Latvia, stated that the experience of unequal pay is not merely an isolated incident but rather a systemic problem. She emphasized the alarming lack of clear information available to employees regarding the criteria set for their salaries, which fosters distrust and can negatively impact both employee engagement and loyalty.
The survey also highlighted a notable disparity among different job groups, suggesting that lower-level employees, who often have less influence over salary determinations, feel this issue more acutely. Additionally, these lower-tier workers tend to have a lesser understanding of how their compensation is determined, creating a cycle of uncertainty and dissatisfaction within the workforce.
