According to recent data from the Central Statistical Bureau, the employment rate in Latvia for residents aged 15 to 74 rose to 64.5% last year, an increase of 0.6 percentage points compared to 2024. This translates to approximately 883,100 employed individuals, reflecting a growth of 5,600 in the workforce within the same age group. Notably, the sectors that contributed most to this rise in employment included wholesale and retail trade, automotive and motorcycle repair, as well as professional, scientific, and technical services.

Furthermore, the employment rate among the youth aged 15 to 24 years also saw a notable increase, hitting 30.8% in 2025, marking a 0.9 percentage point rise from 2024. This corresponds to 57,600 young individuals finding jobs, up from 56,200 the previous year. The growing employment statistics among young adults highlight ongoing improvements in the labor market, which may have positive implications for economic stability and growth in Latvia.

Interestingly, there were also 45,500 employed individuals who worked in multiple jobs, indicating a shift in work dynamics where many are engaging in side jobs or additional employment alongside their primary occupations. This phenomenon illustrates evolving work patterns, potentially driven by economic factors or personal preferences, and underscores the adaptability of the Latvian workforce in response to changing labor demands.
