In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking in Kulgam district of South Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have seized property worth approximately 1.5 crore rupees from an alleged drug trafficker, identified as Ashraf Khande. This operation was carried out under the NDPS Act, indicating the authorities' strong commitment to combating illegal drug trade in the region. The seized assets are believed to have been acquired through illicit drug activities, showcasing the police's efforts to dismantle the economic backbone of drug cartels operating in Kashmir.

The seized properties, located in the village of Manigam, include six shops, five warehouses, a tin shed, and a plinth. According to police reports, these assets were formally attached and have been valued at around 1.5 crore rupees. This decisive action comes as part of a larger strategy by the Jammu and Kashmir Police to tighten their grip on the drug trafficking networks that have been a growing concern in the region, with officials stating that such measures are crucial to disrupt the flow of illegal drugs.

Ashraf Khande, the accused, resides in the Nipoora area of Kulgam.
