Sahmyook University Holds 'MVP Camp' for 1,000 Incoming Freshmen

Sahmyook University has organized an 'MVP Camp' for 1,000 incoming freshmen as part of its community-oriented character education program.

Sahmyook University, under President Je Hae-jong, has hosted an 'MVP Camp' for 1,000 incoming freshmen, marking a significant part of its holistic education approach. The camp, established in 2010, aims to cultivate MVP talent characterized by mission, vision, and passion, and this year marks its 17th edition. The camps are conducted in two phases, accommodating students in a residential format to foster community bonding during a three-day, two-night stay.

The theme of this year's camp, 'With Us,' emphasizes community cohesion, likening individual participants to puzzle pieces coming together to form a complete picture. During the camp, freshmen engage in various activities such as orientation, departmental meetings, the SU Festival, talk shows, and small group activities, designed to enhance their understanding of university life while facilitating interactions with peers and seniors to exchange valuable information.

Notably, the entire camp is planned and operated by students, making it a unique initiative under student leadership from various teams, including public relations and leadership training. This involvement not only enriches the experience for incoming students by providing a well-structured camp but also allows organizers to develop their leadership and collaboration skills, thereby fostering a robust student community. President Je expressed hope that the camp will serve as a foundational step in molding incoming freshmen into MVPs over their four years at the university, warmly welcoming them to their new academic journey.
