Joint Kendo Training Between Deoksung Women's University and Sookmyung Women's University Completed

Deoksung Women's University hosted a joint kendo training event with Sookmyung Women's University to enhance sports exchange and promote traditional martial arts.

On the afternoon of the 22nd, Deoksung Women's University held a joint kendo training session with Sookmyung Women's University at the Deoksung Hanaru Hall gymnasium. This event aimed to foster sports exchange between universities and enhance the reach of kendo as a traditional martial art. A total of 47 students participated, performing basic training demonstrations, technical displays, and friendly matches. The event served not only as a platform for improving skills but also for promoting camaraderie among the participants, reflecting the values of cooperation and consideration through kendo.

The event was graced by the attendance of senior officials from the Seoul Kendo Association, highlighting the support and interest in such collaborative endeavors. Notable attendees included Park Hyun-kyu, the Executive Director, and Baek Seung-sil, the Secretary-General, who encouraged the energetic training and exchanges among the students. Additionally, the event received sponsorship from the Dodream Sports Association, emphasizing the community support for the growing sports culture in women's universities.

Shin Sang-hyun, a professor at Deoksung Women's University and the kendo team coach, expressed commitment to continuing these exchanges to contribute to the development of women's sports culture and the revitalization of kendo. This initiative not only enhances physical skills but also strengthens ties among institutions, promoting a collaborative spirit in the realm of martial arts and education.
