Hektor Uustalo and Siiri Pilt Win the Spring Otepää Marathon

Hektor Uustalo and Siiri Pilt emerged victorious in the 53rd Otepää Marathon, taking first place in the men's and women's categories, respectively.

The 53rd Otepää Marathon, Estonia's oldest continuously held marathon, saw Hektor Uustalo claiming the top position with a time of 3:12:29. This annual running event, known for its competitive spirit among both local and national athletes, featured a range of participants, including those competing in the half marathon. Uustalo's victory came with a significant lead as Ain Einar Kaugesalu, finishing second, completed the race in 3:18:19, trailing Uustalo by nearly six minutes. Erkki Etverk secured the third place with a time of 3:28:49.

On the women's side, Siiri Pilt took the title with an impressive finish time of 3:53:32, followed closely by Elza Pilt at 3:57:24 and Ulvi Lond, who finished third at 5:21:58. The race conditions were favorable this year, with temperatures reaching a pleasant 11 degrees Celsius, likely contributing to the participants' performances. In the half marathon category, Lauri Enn won decisively with a time of 1:26:10, while Maria Sarv led the women's half marathon, finishing in 2:04:18.
